Start with the property.
Share the Gauteng suburb, property use and the work you are planning or have completed. Add the site contact and suitable access times, especially where schools, offices, health facilities or warehouses remain in use.
Bring the existing records.
Have any existing CoC, test reports, circuit records and recent installation invoices ready for discussion. Explain which parts of the property or equipment have changed. This helps the inspection scope receive the right attention.
Ask what the handover will cover.
An electrical CoC must be issued by a registered person after inspection and testing, with the accompanying test report. The relevant electrical scope depends on your site and the work.
Discuss any work still required, the scope of the documents and other equipment or approval records relevant to your project.
Sources: Electrical Installation Regulations; government explanatory notes.
Keep your next step simple.
Send your site details and questions by email or WhatsApp. Start with a clear project conversation, then discuss the proposed work and its handover requirements.
